Regarding certification; I’ve maintained a Master Plumbing Contractor’s  license issued  by the Ohio Construction Industry Licensing Board for ten years.  When my wife, Robin, and I decided to build a practice in the integration of solar energy systems, we were determined to enter the trade through the front gate.  For instance, we subscribed to the original magazine (HomePower), joined established advocacy groups (ASES & GEO), and received training from a tenured school (SEI).

To demonstrate competence in the field and our commitment to upholding high standards of ethical and professional practice, I have trained for, met the requirements of, and passed the written examination to become a (NABCEP) certified PV installer.  The North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners is an independent agency committed to providing a certification program of quality and integrity for professional installers and consumers of solar energy systems.

About NABCEP (Official paragraph by NABCEP): The North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) is the most respected, well established, and widely recognized national certification organization for solar professionals in the field of renewable energy. NABCEP is a volunteer board of representatives who are chosen based on their experience and involvement in the solar energy industry. NABCEP’s mission is to develop and implement quality credentialing and certification programs for practitioners by supporting and working closely with professionals and stakeholders in the renewable energy and energy efficiency industries.
